5’ Plate and Structural Steel
Mixed structural materials (tubing, angles, beams) that are under the 2’ X 5’ maximum dimension and are free of all contaminants and non-metallics.
3' #2 Foundry Steel
Mixed wrought iron materials that are clean and free of contaminants and non-metallics. Must be under 3’ maximum diagonal dimension and weigh less than 200 pounds per piece.
5’ #1 Heavy Melt Steel
Mixed wrought iron materials that are clean and free of contaminants and non-metallics. Must be under 2’ X 5’ maximum dimensions and weigh less than 500 pounds per piece.
Unprepared Plate & Structural
Mixed structural materials (tubing, angles, beams, etc.) that are over 5’ in length and need to be processed/cut down to size.
Unprepared Shearable Steel
Wrought iron scrap that is over the 2’ X 5’ maximum prepared dimension and is also under 1” in thickness. Includes items such as farm equipment and implements, tubing, piping, shelving and others. Must be clean and not contain contaminants.
Unprepared Torchable Steel
Heavy iron products that are brought in and are over 1” in thickness and require a torch in order to downsize and produce a clean scrap commodity. Examples could be large, heavy pieces of steel, forklifts, machines, etc. Heavy materials with lead-based paints are not accepted.
Mixed/Galvanized Baling Clips
Clean light gauge (less than ¼” thickness) material that can be hydraulically baled. Can be galvanized or painted. Must not contain any contaminants and must be 100% light ferrous iron. Includes banding, steel racking, light/clean sheet iron. Cannot include conduit.
Appliance/Shred Scrap
Includes appliances, household products, bicycles, chairs, and other predominantly metallic products with slight contamination of plastics, rubbers, foam, etc.
#1 Cast/Automotive Cast
Automotive cast such as brake drums, rotors, heads. Also can be machined cast. All pieces must be under 18” and less than 300 pound per piece. Cannot contain any rubber or non-metallic contaminants.
#2 Cast/Stove Cast/Mixed Cupola
Other cast products such as older bath tubs, manhole covers, old residential heaters, water cast piping, window weights. Cannot contain any contaminants or non-metallics.*** Manhole covers will not be accepted without a written letter from local municipality’s permission
Heavy Breakable Cast
Large machines and machine bases made of castings. Typically indications of this include no welds on the machine and rounded edges. Units must be a minimum of 80% cast in order to meet this grade.
Junk Automobiles
Automobiles are bought in multiple forms depending on whether they contain motors, fluids, and Freon. A title is mandatory, by law, in order for us to purchase an automobile from a customer.
